Irvine, CA., September 21, 2020 - The U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced the approval of MonoFoil D® in killing SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. This approval comes after careful review of third-party laboratory testing, in which MonoFoil D’s efficacy was confirmed with a 3-minute contact time.
Before products can legally claim to kill a specific pathogen, such as SARS-CoV-2, the EPA must authorize the product’s efficacy upon their review of technical data.
MonoFoil D® was tested in accordance with the EPA testing guidelines and has been found to be effective as a broad-spectrum disinfectant in killing SARS-CoV-2 on hard non-porous surfaces.
MonoFoil D has been approved for addition to List N and should appear on the EPA site in the coming days. In early March, the EPA released the initial List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2. Products on List N, unless otherwise stated, may not have been tested for efficacy against SARS-CoV-2. With the recent EPA approval of MonoFoil D, the product is now one of the few disinfectants in the U.S that offers proven efficacy against the virus.
MonoFoil is the first and only multi-action disinfectant and cleaner coating approved by the EPA for use to protect against COVID-19 and other bacteria, mold, mildew, and odor with a single application.
MonoFoil® provides the protection needed to keep people, places, and businesses safe during these unprecedented times. With a long-standing history and commitment to clean technologies, MonoFoil products can be used effectively to aid in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Strong enough for use in hospitals and gentle enough for use in homes.
